RavensFire at the Taste of Nations

Last Saturday RavensFire had the honor of opening for the Austin, MN Taste of Nations. Hundreds of people showed up at the historic Terp Ballroom in downtown Austin. Representatives of a couple dozen nationalities served up their native foods, with everything from frijoles refritos to sauerkraut to Spam, and a few things with unpronounceable names (at least for this North Dakota boy).

One of the best parts of performing is seeing friends and family in the audience. Thank you all for making the effort to stop by. Your presence made it all worth the time.

The venue was called the Terp during its heyday in the Forties. They hosted large dances, packing in crowds every weekend. Just walking into the building reminded me of my own days in Rochester at the Pla-Mor Ballroom on east highway 14. An Austin Minnesota Gallery has a post card of Terp photos.
