On August 12, Christ Lutheran Church in Faribault celebrated the last of their summer-long concert series, Holy Smoke.
Holy Smoke? Think smoked pork butt with beans, coleslaw and cake for dessert, followed by good music. Activities for families and children included face painting, volleyball, bubbles, water balloons and more. The goal of the series was to offer a family friendly picnic and concert to benefit those in need. The funds raised went to the church’s Loving Arms Ministry which provides immediate housing needs, gas money and funds for staple foods. The youth group sold soda, chips and popcorn to raise money for their mission trip.
The night almost got rained out, but the crew moved everything indoors to enjoy the food and music. RavensFire was on stage after the Celtic Tunesters, an instrumental group from Faribault and Owatonna. We all had a fun evening.
