RavensFire at the St James Coffee House
This fall the St. James Coffee Shop hosts a Concert Series every Saturday evening. Several companies sponsor the series, including Thrivent Financial. Performance styles at the concerts include everything from rock to dulcimers and jazz. For Irish and Folk music, the St James invited RavensFire.
Dozens of people filled the chairs, had a cup of coffee, a treat, and enjoyed some wonderful music. Most fun for the band is when our friends request their favorites, especially when the requested songs are the band’s favorite, too. One of the requests this week (and often) was for Danny Boy.
During this holiday season, we are thankful for a chance to give back to the community with song. The band is practicing Christmas music for our bell ringing time for the Salvation Army. We’ve got some fun songs planned, including a unique rendition of a familiar favorite, the Wassail Song, and an original song called Celebrate. Don’t miss it. You can find specific time and place information on the band calendar.
We are starting to think about the calendar for 2017, so if you’re planning an event, or want to suggest a place you’d like to hear RavensFire, let us know.
The RavensFire band plays traditional Irish music, folk songs, instrumentals and original music in the style of familiar Irish tunes. Three beautiful voices blended with guitar, mandolin, whistle and bodhran deliver fun music and a great evening.
