House Parties

RavensFire at a house party

The RavensFire band does more than play in restaurants, wineries and festivals. To help celebrate special occasions, like St. Patrick’s Day, people sometimes ask the band to come to their house for an evening of fun and music. The guests bring food and drink to share, then the instruments come out, the hands start clapping, and sometimes a couple will even start to dance!

Around St. Patrick’s Day this year, two different families invited the band to celebrate their Irish heritage with Irish stew, corned beef, cabbage, and traditional music. The kids loved the rollicking Rattlin’ Bog, everyone got wistful with Danny Boy, and the soon to be married couple enjoyed the original love song Willow Wood. Several girls who had been to the Rochester Irish Fest céili a couple of weeks earlier decided to try out their new dancing skills at one of the parties. They wowed everyone in the house with their smiles, dance moves, and enthusiasm.

Dancing to RavensFire

Both parties included lots of people and food, and other musicians joined the fun just like an old-fashioned Irish Session. Song and laughter filled the air for all the guests those evenings.

We always look forward to house parties. Thank you for welcoming us into your home.
