A summer evening at Riverside on the Root.

Our friend Mike from Riverside on the Root invited the RavensFire band to join them for a beautiful summer evening of music, food and friends in Lanesboro, Minnesota. We’ve been to the restaurant several times, and have always had a fun time. The audience joined the band on the chorus for a few new songs. It’s a wonderful thing to hear all those voices join in. You’ll hear those songs again!

There are always familiar friends and new people to meet at these events. Lanesboro and the Riverside seem to draw people from all over. Irish and Folk music bring out the best people. One group of new friends, who were staying at a nearby campground, requested several favorite Irish tunes, including Wild Rover and Whisky in a Jar. Maybe it’s the familiar words, or maybe it’s the chance to clap along with the band? Something about those favorite songs appeals to all of us. Next time you come to a RavensFire event, be sure to ask for your personal favorite.
