RavensFire has played dozens of local venues and festivals through the years, including the main stages at festivals in Milwaukee, St. Paul, Emmetsburg, La Crosse, Wausau, and Rochester. The busy calendar includes performances at concerts, festivals, theater productions, public and private events.

Audiences everywhere clap furiously along with the RavensFire band’s version of the popular old song Whisky in the Jar, and chime in proudly on the original patriotic piece, Hurrah for the Heroes. Their CD features these songs and many more. A frequent comment from our enthusiastic fans is “You guys look like you’re having fun!” We are having fun, and whether it’s late night at a crowded pub or on a sunny afternoon at a festival, we invite everyone to come close and get caught up in the fire!

Larry and Melissa Schmidt have been professional musicians ever since they met. Their love of music has kept them happily singing and playing together and recording in Nashville, Las Vegas and Dublin, Ireland. They have toured several times in Ireland, sharing their music with delighted audiences all along the way.

Larry’s guitar playing is strong and spirited, building the foundation for Melissa’s quick, light mandolin and sweet lilting whistle tunes.

Judy Havelick shines with a sturdy beat on the bodhran. With all three voices blending in beautiful harmony, the RavensFire band sings new life to the familiar tunes.

Melissa’s many original songs have won awards and blend skillfully into the wonderful RavensFire collection of traditional Irish favorites. Some songs will raise a shout of laughter, others will bring a tear to your eye. The lively instrumental reels, jigs, polkas, and waltzes will go straight to your feet, and no matter what your age, you can be sure there will be no dull moments listening, singing, tapping and dancing along with the magic music of RavensFire.
